Sun as you will see in the next posts is a rare guest in November in Poland. The pictures below look optimistic and it seems that only several days are required to finish the foundation. But this is not the truth. The winter is coming.

November 16-th.
Concrete bricks put layer after layer forms the foundation walls.
Foundations are almost ready. There are only few things left, such as isolation, draining, and filling in the empty space inside the walls.
The man on the picture below is a master of the brigade. He is a very good and honest hardhat.
November, 12-th
In the past when I heard people talking about their houses, flats, progress of the construction work I found it almost always very boring.
It is difficult to talk interestingly on this topic (I'm trying here). :)
It changed when I started to build my own home. I needed experience of those who already succeeded. Indeed, they helped me. Thank you!
The second surprise is that my future home and (almost) everything that is associated with it started to be compelling.
I like the smell of fresh wood for formwork. I was excited like a kid when a big earthmover dug a hole for the foundation.
I was proud when foundation walls were growing. I didn't expect all these feelings.
And what's going on the building site? Just today foundation walls started to grow.
November, 9-th.
Today's a concrete day!
A concrete-mixer arrived and looked ... just see how it looked. :)
Although the picture seems funny it was a seriuos task for the real men.
At the end of the day the continuous footing (ława fundamentowa) was ready.
After the weekend they finished the formwork.
To strenghten the base course (ławy fundamentowe) a special long steel "cages" made of rods are put in the formwork.
Can you tell me how is it called in English?
November, 5-th. Second day and the formwork (szalunki :) ) is almost ready.
The pace is surprising but the builders are experienced.
In the meantime they started to prepare steel sthrenghtening of the foundation (zbrojenie fundamentów).
It's November, 4-th 2005. Second day of the construction. The hole for foundation is ready. My construction brigade is starting the formwork (szalunki na ławy fundamentowe).
